Traditional Hampshire village with strawberry-growing heritage, Manor Farm Country Park, and a rural character.
Botley is a traditional Hampshire village in the south-east of Eastleigh Borough, on the edge of the borough boundary near Boorley Green and Horton Heath. The River Hamble runs through the parish, giving it a green and rural character.
Historically, Botley was known as the 'Strawberry Village' because of its prominent market gardening and strawberry-growing heritage. This agricultural tradition has shaped the village's character, and the area remains greener and more rural than much of the borough.
Botley village has a Botley Conservation Area, adopted with a new appraisal in December 2025. Manor Farm Country Park is nearby — a working farm and country park open to the public with rare breeds, woodland walks, and a historic mill.
The village has a train station on the Eastleigh–Fareham line with services to Southampton and Fareham. There is a small local retail offer but Hedge End's retail park serves most shopping needs.
Property in Botley tends to be older village stock mixed with smaller residential streets, with a quieter, rural feel than the rest of the borough.
